Personal Profile

LAURA KING has ridden horses all her life, riding from the age of 2 and show jumping since the age of 5. She started competing nationally on ponies at the age of 12 and horses from the age of 13. At the age of 16 she went to ride for former international show jumper FRED WELCH in Hampshire. Whilst competing for the Welch team Laura became well known around the national and international circuit. In 2004 she competed at the LONDON INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW, OLYMPIA and was selected to ride on the EUROPEAN YOUNG RIDERS SHOW JUMPING TEAM for Great Britain.

After finishing at Fred Welch’s in 2005 Laura spent time competing her own horses before going on to ride for yards in Anglesey and Cambridge.

In 2007 Laura was approached by Olympic show jumper BEN MAHER to work alongside him training and competing his string of horses. Whilst being 1st rider under Ben Maher she gained a world of invaluable knowledge and was able to hone her techniques. Listed below are a few of Laura’s major achievements.

1999 – Jersey Discovery Champion (Nobody’s Blues But Mine) 2000 – Competed at Horse of the Year Show, Wembley (Nobody’s Blues But Mine) 2004 – Selected for European SJ Team for GB (Perfavore & Emigrent) 2004 – Competed at Olympia, Young Show Jumper of the Year Award (Placed 5th, Perfavore)

Laura now uses her knowledge and understanding to train others. To book a lesson with Laura call her on 07515371986. Laura’s fee’s are £33.00 per hour.  A minimal amount for travel to your yard will be charged.
